Ceaser's Story (Kamet Cesare)

Ceaser at BathHello, my name is Ceaser, and I used to live at Bath Cats and Dogs Home until December 2005.  I first arrived at the home in July 2003 with a whole bunch of my family, because before that I was living in a place where we didn't get looked after properly.  I soon settled in at Bath because it was a much better place to live and I had a super lady to look after me called Kirsty.  But, I used to watch people come and take out the other Sloughis and dogs to take them home, but I couldn't get a look in!  Could have been something to do with the way I barked as loud as I could at everyone who came near my cage though.

Soon all the other Sloughis were all gone to homes except me and Flare.  One day a while ago some people came to see Flare a few times then they took him too!  So then it was just me.  Flare came to see me a few times with his new family and the dog with the hat and very long hair (Afghan called Storm), we all played nicely in the paddock and Kirsty and Jan took our photos.

One day just before Christmas 2005, Flare (now they are calling him Sid ), came to see me with his family and I was taken in their car for a long journey.  I could see Kirsty watching me to make sure I was OK and she waved me off.  I was a very good boy, I never moved a muscle, I just sat on the lady's lap all the way.

I've been in my new home now about 6 weeks and it's a piece of cake!  I did have a few accidents in the house to start and had a poorly tummy for a day which was their fault giving me different food I'm not used to.

I love the settee, the cuddles, the chewies and the walks.  I spend alot of time sitting by mum's feet when she's on the computer.

I love sitting on the new leather settee as well but they barricade it so I can't get to it - well that's easy for me, as every night mum cuddles me into my new furry bed, as soon as she's gone I push through and get on the new settee.  They dont' trust me because I've already ripped up 2 cushions - yessssssss, I gave them a good 'seeing to!'.

I liked being here with Sid because we play for ages on our own but I just am very careful not to jump onto the Afghan Hound, Storm, because he's so grumpy and he's always telling us Sloughis off.

Last weekend we all went to the seaside - well that was great, loads of new smells, can't wait to get off the lead there.  I was a good boy where we stayed too as I just tell my mum when I want to go out and didn't rip up any cushions.  Now I can't wait for summer so we can all go for long walks.

All in all I'm a very happy boy now, and my mum says that I'm such a good boy, she can't understand why I waited so long for my forever home.
