Chester is a 4 year old brindle Sloughi cross. He is neutered, vaccinated and wormed. Chester was adopted when he was 6 months old. He had been bullied by his siblings in his former home which is why he initially ended up in rescue. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of his owner he has never been 100% around children, this makes for stressful living for his family and Chester and it is with regret that his owners now seek a more appropriate home for him.

 

 

 

He is good with most other dogs, very submissive with other entire males although he does take exception to certain neutered males, so muzzling when out is advised. This improves all the time as he gets older and with consistent training. He cannot be rehomed with young children although a family with older teenagers who are dog savy would be ok. Chester is not cat friendly, nor is he livestock friendly. His recall is pretty good once his bond is established with his owner.

He is typically Sloughi in nature, very aloof with those he does not know (and a very good guard dog in that respect too), very loyal and loving with 'his' people. However he is not a cuddley dog and likes affection on his own terms.

 

 

Chester could be rehomed with an older calm female dog. I do feel that he needs someone who is experienced with either Sloughis or Salukis, who understands the breed so that they can carry on with his training. Chester is currently in Devon.
