Second Annual Rescue Sloughi Reunion
17th May 2008
Trowbridge

Belle

The second annual Sloughi Reunion took place in Trowbridge this year, Sloughis in attendance were Henry, Belle, Effie, Topsy, Arrow, Twin, Victoria, Leo, Streaky, Troy, Gracie, Tosca and George. Tony Hickman has kindly sent an account of the day! Hold your mouse over the photos to see who is who!

Topsy

And so the Sloughi Reunion story continues!  It had been almost a year since we had all met up, and loads of things had happened; not least reforming the group with slightly less members and, unfortunately, less dogs.

Tosca

However, such is the spirit of us all that we wanted to get together; there was a slow dawning of realisation that we actually quite liked each other and true friendships were being born!

Henry

However the big issue was the location.  Could we do Charlcome again?  Would the weather hold?  Why is there only one monopolies commission?  And other such intruiging questions lingered in the air like dog breath after an unsavoury snack.

Arrow

And then, to the rescued dogs a rescue sanctuary - Paul and Gina's rather nice pad in Trowbridge.  So off we all trotted, weaving our way across countryside from Cornwall to Calne, all to descend upon sweet West Country suburbia.  And what a superb day - again!

Streaky

Sometimes it is hard to explain why a favourite place works; your local pub for example.  Not mine, yours.  But here in Trowbridge, we found everything - a terrace for all, gazebos for rain, grass for dogs and delicious food for humans!

Effie

Once again, we found that the dogs got on well; even those who took the occasional dislike to George found some compassion for one travelled so far; and all two-legged attendees enjoyed the chance to mingle socially, enjoy a glass or five of wine and just generally, chill out!

Gracie

As always, no-one wanted the day to end; a perfect setting had been created gloriously by our perfect hosts.  And as we were all saying how much we enjoyed it and we must do it again, the announcement for Henry's birthday party gave us all an excuse to get together in a few weeks time!

Troy

Once again, it was a superb day, hard to tell who enjoyed it most, two-legs or four!
