Riley

Riley

Riley was brought into a dog rescue in Nottinghamshire in February 2008. He was found as a stray at only approximately 4 months old. He was extremely underweight when found, and it is hard to say where he could have come from.

Thankfully for Riley he is already reserved and will be going to his new home shortly.

Kamet ThurayyaHowever our worry is now for Riley's siblings. He has a very similar look to the last litter bred from the Kamet/Akhanubis line in 2003. There were 5 dogs registered in that litter, 4 turned up in rescue however the fifth, a bitch named Kamet Thurayya (pictured right) never appeared. Jacky Saunders has also told people that there were more dogs in that litter than were actually registered so there may be other unidentified siblings out there too that are being used for breeding purposes.

If any dog or puppy that you think may be a Sloughi ends up at your rescue centre, please do contact us. Not only are we trying to trace these dogs in a hope we can finally put an end to this sad story, but we also have suitable experienced rescue Sloughi homes available for adoption and fostering. The picture of Thurayya (right), was taken almost 3 years ago so she may be greying round the muzzle now.

We are especially interested in dogs that may currently turn up in the Nottinghamshire area as this is where Riley was found - please be extra vigilant if you are in this area.
