Willow

Willow was born in February 2002 at the NCDL Kenilworth centre. Her pregnant mother (apparently a Greyhound) had been brought over from Ireland after being abandoned. Willow was from a litter of 9, but sadly her mother did not take to the pups and they had to be hand reared from 3 weeks old. Willow went to live with her new owner, Dawn, when she was 6 weeks old.

Willow has been a wonderful dog to live with and has taken part in Agility competitions from an early age. She was doing extremely well until she took a nasty tumble and injured her back when she was only 3 years old.

Although thankfully Willow, with the help of a chiropractor, is kept comfortable after her injury she no longer competes in Kennel Club agility competitions, she still competes in smaller shows for fun where the courses are slightly easier for her to complete.

Willow ’s owner came across the Sloughi Rescue site by chance, and after being told by various people over the years that Willow had a Sloughi look about her decided to get in touch.

If Willow’s mum was a Greyhound we can only assume that her father was indeed a Sloughi – although this also means that some of these dogs did end up traveling across to Ireland at some stage.

Willow and Dawn would like to know how any of her siblings are getting on, so if you think you have a brother or sister of Willow, adopted from Kenilworth NCDL in 2002 we would love to hear from you!
